The stairs and ladder pack is designed for use with the mortise side of the 2x jig.

The jig is used in place of the normal flat index piece to position the mortise jig. This allows you to route the mortise at an angle.

The 15º angle is perfect for a ladder and the 45º is ideal for stairs. The 30º piece gives you another option.

Layout and marking your mortises correctly is important and best explained through demonstration. Please watch our ladder build tutorial video to learn how to use this product.

It is important to note that the tenon side pieces will stand proud of the mortise when fully seated. After any glue used in assembly had dried, simply plane them flat.

If you have any questions about using the jig after watching the video, please send us a message on Etsy or on Facebook.

Other than setting the mortise at an angle, you will do everything the same way as you would with the “normal” 2x jig configuration.
