How to make pumpkin spice hot chocolate at home
In a medium saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it is warm but not boiling.
Any temperature between about 120-180 is fine, if you’re checking with a thermometer. If you don’t have a thermometer, that’s okay. The milk will start to get frothy looking right before it boils. If you see this, turn down the heat.
Stir in the pumpkin puree, cocoa powder, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth. Don’t let the milk boil. If you need to, remove the milk from the stove while you stir.

Pour the hot chocolate into mugs. This recipe makes two one cup servings. Top generously with whipped cream and sprinkle with extra pumpkin pie spice or chocolate shavings for garnish.

Serve hot and enjoy the comforting flavors of fall!
Feel free to adjust the sweetness and spice level to suit your taste.
